Lydia Zakhari brings years of diversified experience providing high-quality legal counsel and representation to clients on strategic and contractual matters, complex commercial litigation, business disputes and risk management to her role as Legal Counsel for The Trust and as part of its Senior Leadership Team. Lydia is involved in the administration and management of The Trust and is responsible for leading the diversified legal needs of the multi-faceted organization.
Before joining The Trust, Lydia was an attorney with the firms Carney Badley Spellman, P.S., and Gordon Thomas Honeywell, LLP, located in Seattle, WA. During her time in the private practice she was recognized by Washington Super Lawyers™ magazine, the Super Lawyers™ Business Edition and the Super Lawyers™ Women’s Edition. Zakhari's legal experience also includes tenure at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, LLP and an externship in the chambers of the Honorable Reggie B. Walton, United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Lydia earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights, and received her master’s degree, with distinction, and bachelor’s degree from The American University. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and the State of Washington and is a member of the Sports Lawyers Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel and sits on the Board of the Sports Business & Leadership Association (DC Chapter).
