Once you're a few weeks in to a new year, your new routines are starting to get set, and many struggle to get the ball truly rolling in the right direction. Below are a few tips to help get you started and down the right long-term path.
Don’t be afraid of failure. Failure is going to happen at some point, and your response to it will truly decide on your success.
You’re not the same person you were 5 years ago, 3 years ago, last year, or even last month. Your training should reflect this. Jumping right back into something you and your body is not prepared for is only going to make it harder for you to succeed as well as increase your risk of injury. Both result in you stopping your progress towards your goals.
Find a training partner. It can be your spouse, a friend, family member or whomever. It has been proven that having a training partner keeps both of you held accountable for your actions both while you are training and when you are away.
Educate yourself on what and how to eat for your goals. If you want to gain, lose, or maintain, they each have a different pathway of success. Individually as well, we all have different diets that will lead to our success. Don’t jump on the fad diet or quick results theme. These show no long-term success.
